Into the sensory world with Beth Orton

Has there ever been an album that has Septembered as hard as Beth Orton's Weather Alive? I've been completely swept up in its autumnal magic over the past few weeks, and I'm excited to share this new feature with Beth for The Line of Best Fit. It's maybe my favourite thing I've written so far this year, and I hope that you enjoy it too. Weather Alive is out on September 23rd. Don't miss it!

Beth Orton and the strange and sensory world of altered memory | Interview
On Weather Alive, Beth Orton lets out rolling waves of emotion through lushly detailed explorations of memory. She talks to Best Fit about letting her senses lead her on the path.

UPDATE: I don't usually share the feedback I get from artists but Beth has written some incredibly kind words about the article on Instagram. If I die, my family can just have this written on my gravestone: "The gift of a journalist like Alan Pedder is meeting the inexplicable with clarity, giving dignity to the effort to try to find words to speak of what has no language, reflecting back another layer of understanding." It's a lot of words, so a laminated piece of paper is fine x
