One of my most played tracks in 2002 was Jane Weaver's 'The Heart That Buckled You', a gently melancholic song from her debut album, sung very simply and recorded flaws-and-all. In the 20 years since, Jane has reinvented her sound quite spectacularly, her increasingly cosmic and conceptual work marking her out as one of the UK's most interesting singer/songwriters.
Having recently released a second album out with her experimental trio Fenella and with a major London show coming up soon, I spoke to Jane about her unique story and the five songs she considers to be her personal best. The piece is published today on The Line of Best Fit.
