Frida Hyvönen on the art of getting older and daring to trust her inner vision

It's been almost ten years since Frida Hyvönen put out a record in English, having kept busy closer to home with raising a daughter, collaborating with photographer Elin Berg, and cleaning up at the Grammis with her brilliant 2016 Swedish language album, Kvinnor och barn. In my opinion, Dream of Independence was more than worth the wait. Frida displays all her wit and warmth on this record, and a touch of darkness too. I met up with her in snowy Stockholm to go deep on the themes and artwork for the record. Interview up on The Line of Best Fit now.

Frida Hyvönen and the power of restraint | Interview
Frida Hyvönen tells Alan Pedder about the art of getting older as she drops Dream Of Independence, her first album in English in almost a decade.
"I’ve been trying to learn to be more restrictive and to take better care of myself, but really I’m happy to keep my outlook open, even naïve, and have a willingness to try things." – F.H.
