Nina Nastasia on living in ever decreasing circles and the shocking cost of freedom

Since I was introduced to her music by an ex-boyfriend in 2007, Nina Nastasia has been someone I've often returned to when I'm feeling lost or stuck. There's something so grounding about her voice and the conversational tone of many of her songs. And yet, as we now know, something incredibly dark. The story of her new album Riderless Horse is incredibly sad. There's not much I want to say other than what's already in the article published today on The Line of Best Fit. It was a tough, beautiful, open conversation, and I'm very grateful to Nina for going deep with me over two and half hours. An interview to remember for sure.
